We are fortunate that over the many years that Cheddar has been a tourist attraction, it has been photographed at least a couple of times, often with some of the oldest equipment, and many of these photos found their way into postcard images. The Frith Collection is particularly notable as a source of Cheddar nostalgia, and they often show lost features of the tourist experience such as the railway station, the motor museum or charabanc trips. There are also images showing Cheddar’s more industrial past, and maps and aerial views showing how the village grew up over the years. There have also been many paintings of the Gorge and village, and also lots of other tourist paraphernalia such as bookmarks, badges, fridge magnets and lots more.
